My Step-Sister Can't Resist Me: in charge for the week the newlyweds are away

What is My Step-Sister Can't Resist Me about?

The week opens with Cole warning his new stepsister to watch where her hands are going, and Lea recoiling as though the very idea disgusts her.

Cole’s father has married Lea’s mother, and the newlyweds have gone off on a trip, leaving their grown children alone in the house for a week. Before leaving, the parents put Cole in charge, and he takes the role seriously in the most irritating way possible. Lea’s position is simple: the wedding made them step-siblings, not friends, and nothing obliges her to like him. Cole has noticed, though, that she says this while looking straight at him.

Most of the dialogue is a running score. Lea goes for disgusting, repulsive and unbearable; Cole answers by asking why she keeps touching him and by telling her mother, Linda, that her daughter adores him. The phone keeps ringing from the parents’ trip, and both of them get practised at lying to it. Underneath the sniping, the free episodes keep shrinking the distance between them, until the argument moves into her own bedroom.

Episode 1: Unbearable, Lea tells her mother

My Step-Sister Can't Resist Me, episode 1 · open to anyone, no login

It begins with a brush of contact that Cole makes a point of, and Lea's disgusted reply. Her mother married his father, she says, which does not mean she has to like him. Cole counters that their parents left him in charge, and he says she does have to like him. His narration adds what she will not admit: for someone who supposedly cannot stand him, she spends a lot of time watching him.

Linda rings with good news about the trip and wants to know how the two step-siblings are getting on. Lea complains that he is unbearable, and Cole cheerfully assures Linda that Lea adores him. Next he claims she has been eyeing him ever since the ceremony, which Lea dismisses as wishful thinking. Getting along, she tells him, would require him to become someone else entirely. He reckons she likes him exactly as he is, and she stalks off to her room, asking him to vanish.

Episode 2: Make-up at bedtime

Cole follows her and declares that her room now runs on his rules. Lea proposes rule one: he leaves. He tells her she wants him there and points to her make-up, asking who it is for. She claims she always wears it. Nobody wears it to bed, he points out, and she tells him to mind his own business.

Her mother calls again, asking whether Cole is being nice. Lea says he is in his own room, and Cole, standing right there, calls her a liar. She tells him she hates him and he asks whether she really does. The episode ends with Lea insisting this does not mean she likes him, just before admitting she needs him to touch her.

How long can Lea keep calling it hate?

By the end of the free episodes Lea has lied to her mother about where Cole is and admitted what she wants, while still swearing it means nothing. The parents are only part of the way through their trip, and Linda's calls show no sign of stopping.
