Lodge 69 Was Double Booked: four adults, two bedrooms and one hot tub

What is Lodge 69 Was Double Booked about?

Brad asks where his ski goggles are instead of looking at the outfit his wife is showing him, so she turns to the other husband and mentions that Brad skis all day tomorrow.

Nobody gets a quiet weekend at Lodge 69. Two couples arrive holding the same reservation, a phone call meant to fix it ends with the news that there are no spare rooms and the road is shut, and the only way through is to share. One guest counts heads against beds, points out that there is a hot tub to share, and wonders aloud what could possibly go wrong.

The real fault line runs through one marriage. Brad cares more about the first lift of the morning than about his wife, and she has started paying close attention to the other husband, whose own wife is never far away. The cabin shrinks the moment Brad sets off for the slopes, and Lodge 69 Was Double Booked spends its free episodes counting the hours until he gets back.

Episode 1: No spare rooms, road closed

Lodge 69 Was Double Booked, episode 1 · open to anyone, no login

One couple stumbles through the door, one partner catching the other on the way in, and finds a second couple already inside. Both have booked Lodge 69. A phone call goes nowhere: there are no other rooms, the road is closed, and then the line drops. Someone shrugs that it is no great drama and runs through what the four of them will have to share.

Settling in brings its own hazards. A request to fetch a phone charger from downstairs comes with a warning not to wander into the wrong room. Elsewhere Brad's wife asks him what he thinks of her outfit, and he replies by asking where his goggles are. She tells him he is such a romantic, then lets the other husband know that Brad will be skiing all day tomorrow.

Episode 2: First chair at nine

Lodge 69 Was Double Booked, episode 2 · free once you sign up

Brad's wife warns the other husband that Brad is about to drag him out skiing, and hints that she has a better plan for his day. Brad announces first chair at nine and asks who is in. Yesterday's long journey is the other husband's excuse and a sudden illness is hers, so Brad sets off by himself, due back at four and warning the pair not to have a better day than he does.

Suddenly well enough for the hot tub, she explains that she is only sick of skiing. The water is barely warm, she offers to warm him up herself, and the other wife gives up and goes indoors for a proper hot shower. He reminds her that his wife is right there; she replies that Brad is gone until four, works out that leaves about seven hours, and declares the talking over.

Will anyone notice what happens before Brad returns at four?

With Brad on the mountain and the narrator's wife in the shower, the free episodes close on the widest opening the weekend has offered. Brad's wife has done all the planning, and the other husband has only weak objections left. Unresolved is whether his own wife stays indoors, whether Brad really stays out until four, and how two couples get through the rest of the trip in a two-bedroom cabin. Episodes 3 to 5 pick up from there.
