What is Under Her Watch about?

One moment he is under the waves, and the next he is flat on the sand with a lifeguard counting his breaths and telling him he takes direction well.

The season opens with a near drowning. Sophie hauls the swimmer out, talks him back to steady breathing and teases him when he admits he does not know her name. The next day he turns up for work as the club’s new cabana attendant, introduced by the boss as her husband’s nephew, and the staff are told to make him feel at home. The boss already has a place in mind for him on the deck crew.

Sophie cuts in before the boss can finish and volunteers to train him herself. The boss agrees, with a pointed reminder that the club keeps things professional, which Sophie seems to treat as a dare. Under Her Watch then frames everything as staff training: certificates, drills and sign-offs that only she can give. A co-worker, Brooklyn, spots what is going on and asks to be included, so the secret is shared almost as soon as it starts.

The first sound is a shout from the shore that someone has gone under. Sophie gets to the swimmer, counts him through each breath and tells him approvingly that he follows instructions. He was out of his depth, she says, as plenty of men are around her. He manages to admit he does not know her name, and she notes with a look that he does not seem bothered.

A day later the boss walks the new cabana attendant over and presents him as her husband's nephew, so the whole staff is meant to be welcoming. Sophie remarks that she keeps ending up in his lap and tells the story of nearly giving him mouth to mouth. The deck crew was the boss's plan for him, but Sophie interrupts to claim him. A warning about professionalism follows, and Sophie answers by promising him a summer of lessons.

Sophie finally has him to herself and is in the middle of listing all she could teach him when a colleague walks in for the shift change. Waving them on, Brooklyn promises to keep quiet and hints that she would not mind being included. Sophie tells her to join the queue, and Brooklyn settles for maybe later.

Then the lesson turns official: every staff member must be certified in water safety, and the person signing him off will be Sophie, personally. The training dummy is useless, she decides, so he lies down as her patient while she coaches a firm, steady rhythm and slow breaths. His question about whether this is really club policy gets a frank reply: maybe she just likes him on his back. A real lesson, she hints, comes next.

Can Sophie keep the summer lessons hidden from the boss?

Besides the trainee, two people now know what Sophie's training involves: Sophie herself and Brooklyn, who has asked to be next. The boss has already warned her once to keep things professional, and the new attendant is family through the boss's husband, which would make any discovery awkward for everyone. Under Her Watch cast: who is who

The trainee, the boss's nephew by marriage, is unnamed in the free episodes, while Brooklyn is a co-worker and the boss herself runs the club. All of them are fictional adults drawn by AI.
